Weekly Maintenance Plan
Hydroponic System Weekly Maintenance Checklist
Day | Task | Purpose |
---|---|---|
Monday | Check and Adjust pH | Optimal nutrient absorption (6.0-6.5 for most crops) |
Tuesday | Measure Electrical Conductivity (EC) | Monitor nutrient concentration |
Wednesday | Partial Nutrient Solution Replacement | Refresh nutrients, remove accumulated salts |
Thursday | Clean and Inspect Equipment | Prevent algae growth, check for clogs |
Friday | Supplement Micronutrients | Ensure balanced nutrition |
Saturday | Check Water Levels | Maintain optimal water volume |
Sunday | Full System Review | Comprehensive system health check |
Nutrient Maintenance Guidelines
Key Monitoring Points:
- Nitrogen (N): Monitor leaf color and growth rate. Yellowing leaves may indicate deficiency.
- Phosphorus (P): Check root development and overall plant vigor.
- Potassium (K): Observe leaf edge health and overall plant strength.
- Calcium (Ca): Watch for tip burn or stunted growth.
- Magnesium (Mg): Check for interveinal chlorosis.
- Iron (Fe): Monitor for yellowing between leaf veins.
Adjustment Recommendations:
If nutrient levels deviate by more than 10-15% from target values:
- Flush system with fresh water
- Prepare a new nutrient solution with corrected concentrations
- Gradually reintroduce nutrients to prevent shock
Monthly Deep Maintenance
- Complete system flush and deep cleaning
- Replace all nutrient solution
- Inspect and replace any worn equipment
- Calibrate pH and EC meters
- Check and clean all filters and pumps
