Description

Introducing our latest innovation that we have been working on for over two years. HiGrow™ is a space efficient, organic vertical farming unit that allows for simple and low maintenance farming solutions, suitable for apartment or home living. Requires half a square meter and 23 Watts. The HiGrow™ is perfect for shorter life-cycle plants such as lettuce, spinach, bok choy, kale, herbs and strawberries.

Unit comes ready to go with your first batch of organic nutrients!

The Hi-Grow is so easy to manage and operate.

Getting Started

  1. Place the tower in an area that gets sufficient sunlight.
  2. Fill up the water reservoir full (yes you can use tap water!)
  3. Add 500ml of Vigo organic nutrients to a new system
  4. On a weekly basis add 5ml of Vigo organic nutrients to the reservoir
  5. Ensure the water reservoir is topped up on a weekly basis

Adding Plants

There is very little limit when it comes to what can be grown in the HiGrow, however these are the list of plants that have done really well:-

  1. Flowers
  2. Pak Choi
  3. Spinach
  4. Baby Cabbage
  5. Lettuce
  6. Celery
  7. Mint
  8. Kale
  9. Strawberries
  10. Cherry Tomatoes

It is recommended to use seedlings that still have the plug (from the seedling tray) in tact. Simply put the seedling plug into a 75ml net pot and put the pot into one of the holes on the tower. Ensure there is sufficient water flow to reach the bottom of each net pot.

If you wish to use a piece of pool noodle it also works really well. Just use the sponge to support the stem of the seedling.

Care and Maintenance

  1. Ensure that there are no empty holes on the tower – if you don’t have plants simply just put in an empty net pot. This will reduce sun light on the roots that are growing.
  2. Once a week clean the filter on the top of the tower.
  3. Once every 3 months give the reservoir a clean to remove dead roots and potting mix (make sure you keep the nutrient rich water in a bucket!!)
  4. Once a month, remove the water pump from the base of the tower and ensure that nothing is blocking the impeller.
